Arlon, Inc.

Arlon, Inc. Materials for Electronics Division

Arlon Microwave Materials specializes in products made from fluoropolymers i.e. PTFE, ceramic-filled fluoropolymers, ceramic-filled hydrocarbon thermosets, and other materials that deliver the electrical performance needed in frequency-dependent circuit applications. These products are supplied as copper-clad laminates with bonding plies, or prepregs, for production of multilayer printed circuits. IEEE Microwave Measurement Committee

The Microwave Measurement Technical Committee promotes activities related to microwave measurement technology and science. This includes furthering the investigation, understanding, and the art and practice of microwave measurement. The committee works to increase both the visibility and vitality of the measurement community within the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society MTT-S. It stimulates, develops, and sponsors quality technical sessions and workshops within the MTT-S International Microwave Symposium IMS and other venues, provides web-based technical measurement forums moderated by experts, develops quality educational tools, and develops other ways of disseminating information related to microwave measurements. The technical committee will work with the MTT-S Standards Coordinating Committee in developing and establishing IEEE standards and best measurement practices in the microwave and millimeter-wave field.

USF Wireless and Microwave WAMI Center

The University of South Florida Wireless and Microwave Center excels in all aspects of RF & Microwave Education with applications to commercial wireless and military communications, radar and remote sensing. Research topics funded by more than than ten industry affiliates include precision noise, nonlinear and Sparameter measurements covering broad frequency ranges DC to 110 GHz, MEMs design and fabrication for RF & Microwave applications, MMIC design and experimental verification, wireless system CAD modeling, and fabrication and testing of widebandgap devices e.g. SiC for microwave high power amplifiers. WAMI`s indepth curriculum begins with an intensive undergraduate laboratory course required of all BSEEs that instructs all on the use of microwave instrumentation and CAE software in the context of an RF radio receiver. This is followed by two undergraduate/graduate courses in RF & Microwave Circuit Design, two graduate courses in MMIC Design, and graduate courses in RF & Microwave Measurements including detailed instruction on microwave wafer probing, Sparameter, noise, power, and distortion measurements, antennas, and numerical EM techniques, in addition to a strong complementary curriculum in DSP, communications and signal processing.
